Amplifier One Is Now a Meter Partner
We've added one of the most interesting names in business networking to our lineup. Here's what Meter actually does, the benefits that earned them a place, where they fit.
We've added a new name to the short list of networking providers we'll put in front of clients: Amplifier One is now a Meter partner.
If you haven't heard of Meter yet, you will. They're one of the more interesting things to happen to business networking in years — and after putting them through the same evaluation we run on every vendor, we're glad to be able to bring them to the table when they're the right fit.
Here's what Meter actually does, the benefits that earned them a place in our lineup, where they fit (and where they don't), and what the partnership means for you.
The news, briefly
Amplifier One has become a Meter partner. In plain terms: we can now design, source, and stand up Meter's network-as-a-service for clients across California, Arizona, and Nevada — and fold it into the same vendor-neutral evaluation we run on every connectivity decision.
It's worth saying plainly what this is and isn't. It's one more vetted, high-quality option in a portfolio of 200-plus vendors and carriers. It is not us becoming a "Meter shop." When Meter is the best answer for a client, we'll say so. When it isn't, we'll say that too.
What Meter actually is
Meter is a network-as-a-service (NaaS) company. Instead of selling you switches and access points and leaving you to run them, Meter designs, builds, installs, manages, and owns the entire network — and delivers it as a single monthly subscription.
What makes them different is that they're vertically integrated. They design and manufacture their own hardware — switches, wireless access points, and a combined firewall-and-router security appliance — write the firmware and software that run it, and operate the whole thing with their own team. Most business networks are stitched together from separate hardware, software, and service vendors. Meter is one stack.
In practice, you give them an address and a floor plan. They handle the site survey, internet-provider procurement (they're provider-agnostic, negotiate rates, and consolidate the billing), the hardware, the installation, security, and ongoing monitoring and support — routing, switching, Wi-Fi, DNS security, VPN, SD-WAN, and cellular backup included. The network is cloud-managed and largely self-tuning; if an access point fails, neighboring ones automatically boost their coverage to fill the gap.
Hardware, software, installation, monitoring, upgrades, and support — bundled into one predictable monthly bill, with no big upfront hardware purchase.
We don't add vendors to a list. We vet them — and Meter earned its place.
The benefits
Here's what earned Meter a spot in our lineup, and why a growing business might want it:
- Predictable cost. A subscription (operating expense) instead of a large upfront hardware purchase — and hardware refreshes are included rather than a future capital project.
- Fully managed. Meter monitors, patches, and supports the network around the clock, taking the day-to-day load off a lean IT team.
- Fast, clean deployment. Hardware is pre-configured from a digital model of your space and often validated the same day, with old gear left in place until the cutover is confirmed.
- Security in the stack. Firewall, DNS security, and VPN are part of the platform, not a separate product bolted on later.
- Modern software and visibility. A single cloud dashboard for the whole network, plus Command — an AI tool that lets you query and shape it in plain language.
- One accountable partner. One stack, one bill, one team — no finger-pointing between hardware, software, and connectivity vendors when something breaks.
| The traditional way | Meter (NaaS) | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | Buy from several vendors; you own and maintain it | Meter-built, included, and refreshed over time |
| Upfront cost | Large capital purchase | Predictable monthly subscription |
| Who manages it | Your IT team, or an MSP you hire | Meter's team, 24/7 |
| Upgrades & patching | Your job, on your schedule | Handled for you, automatically |
| Security | Bolted on as separate products | Built into the stack |
| Multi-site rollout | Coordinate vendor by vendor, site by site | One playbook; scales to thousands of sites |
| Visibility | Whatever tools you assemble | One dashboard, plus AI (Command) |
Meter was recently recognized as a Visionary on the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant — but the reason we vetted them in is simpler than any analyst grid: it's a clean, accountable way for a growing business to get enterprise-grade networking without building an enterprise networking team.
Where Meter fits — and where it doesn't
No vendor is right for everyone, and we'd rather say so up front. Meter tends to be a strong fit for:
- Multi-site businesses and growing offices that want to offload networking entirely.
- Lean IT teams that would rather spend their time on strategy than firefighting access points.
- Companies opening or relocating spaces who need a fast, clean buildout.
- Organizations that prefer predictable monthly cost over capital purchases.
It's less of a fit for very small single-site setups where a simple off-the-shelf solution is cheaper, for businesses already happy with a heavy existing investment in another platform, or for environments with unusual requirements a standardized stack doesn't cover. In those cases, we'll point you somewhere else — that's the whole job.
What this changes about how we work (nothing important)
Becoming a Meter partner doesn't make Meter our default, and it doesn't change our economics. Meter pays us a commission only when a client chooses them — exactly like every other vendor in our portfolio. The advisory work stays free to you, and the recommendation stays tied to your needs, not our incentives.
Amplifier One is not an MSP and not a reseller. We're your buyer's agent for technology. A new partnership simply means one more genuinely good option we can evaluate on your behalf — and Meter is a good one.

The bottom line
Business networking has been overdue for the treatment Meter gives it: one accountable stack, one predictable bill, and a team that runs it so yours doesn't have to. We're glad to be able to offer it — and just as glad to tell you when something else fits you better.
If networking is on your roadmap this year — a new office, a refresh, a multi-site rollout, or you're simply tired of firefighting — it's worth a look.

Most technology advisors grew up in telecom. Justin Wilson grew up in IT — building infrastructure at some of the most demanding companies in the world, including Slack, Lookout, and Deloitte, before spending years in enterprise consulting and the telecom channel. Amplifier One is the firm he built because the advisor he wished existed when he was the buyer didn't.
